From white powder to finished part

The powder
Raw materialPTFE arrives as a fine white powder that cannot be melted and poured like ordinary plastic. It has to be persuaded, not moulded.

Pressure
PreformWe compress it in precision dies under tonnes of load until the powder locks into a solid preform ready for sintering.
- 03
Sintering
Heat fusionA long, carefully ramped bake near 380°C fuses the particles. Rush this stage and the part cracks months later in the field.

Machining
Finish to sizeFinally we turn, mill and skive to drawing — bushes, gaskets, dip pipes and spares for glass-lined reactors, dimensionally accurate.
